Scalar Manufacturing was founded by Matthew LaBar in 2013 with the goal of bringing all the amazing PCB technologies under one roof, while being completely open with customers. We believe that manufacturing should not be an inhibitor on engineering, but rather an integral part of the process.
In March 2014, Scalar Manufacturing signed its first representative agreement with Bay Area Circuits, agreeing to represent the Southern California region. The relationship was made formal in April 2014. In May 2014, Scalar Manufacturing added Zhuhai Richsun to its linecard for high volume assembly and injection molding.

Matthew LaBar has lived his entire life in California, born in San Francisco and attending college at Cal State Long Beach. Mr. LaBar has worked in printed circuit board manufacturing since finishing his degrees in mathematics and English. After experiencing PCB manufacture on three continents, he founded Scalar Manufacturing as a PCB manufacturing engineering firm with a long-term goal of scratch-building a PCB facility in the United States. Mr. LaBar quickly found that customers got far more value from Scalar Manufacturing's procurement services than its engineering services, and so Scalar Manufacturing transitioned to being a manufacturer's representative.
